Lawrence Ayuk Iyok was my husband‘s uncle but he was a few years younger than him.
He came to the US in the 1970’s and lived with us for a while. I had no brothers and Ayuk was more like a cousin to me. We would go out disco dancing at Sneaky Pete’s in Latham. I would drop him off and pick him up from his classes. He was soft spoken but held his ground if he believed in something. As I had children he was there to support them as Uncle Ayuk ( later called Uncle Larry.) He eventually married and bought a house in Latham near our house. Our family was very close to his through the years and we will all miss him for a long time. Deepest sympathy to his wife and children. RIP
